Kevin Spacey’s legal strategy has been shut down. His legal team’s attempt to make his sexual battery accusers name public has been dismissed by a judge.
According to court docs obtained by The Blast, an L.A. judge is siding with his accuser, and his name will remain John Doe. The accuser claimed in documents that he feared for his life following threats from Spacey’s fans.
The judge ruled: “Plaintiff’s vulnerability to humiliation, harassment, and threats, is further exacerbated by the nature of Defendant’s status as a high-profile celebrity and the media attention that comes with it. The Court finds that anonymity is necessary to protect Plaintiff’s privacy and to protect against any further trauma.”
The plaintiff is suing Spacey for sexual battery, gender violence, battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment.
He claims that the assault occurred in October of 2016, while giving him a massage at his home in Malibu. He is seeking unspecified damages.
